Week 51: CHRISTMAS EN COITA!

This week was a little different. We ended up in Tuxtla quite a bit starting with Monday. We got a call on Sunday at night because we had a last minute zone meeting on Monday in the morning with the other two Tuxtla zones.

It was a good meeting President wasn't too happy about a few problems that occurred in the other Tuxtla zone but he received a call from an apostle that led to him later interviewing each one of us asking if we really wanted to be here as representatives of the Lord, because this is a very important work....

It's the Lord's work!!!!!

So he wanted to make sure we were all still out here for the right reasons. Also in the interview he had with me and my companion Elder Schmitz he said we weren't going to be together here in Coita much longer.

But we asked to stay together for more time. He said it would be hard because it's hard putting two zone leaders together in the middle of nowhere in a big zone. But he agreed and told us we might be able to have CHRISTMAS EN COITA!!!!

So now we are looking forward to be able to be together for another 2 months to see what we can do here. We set the goal that we wanted to baptize 5 people in November and 10 to 15 in December which will be something really fun to work for.

We just finished October out with a solid 5 and we are suuperr excited to help more of our brethren to be able to come unto Christ and make sacred covenants with their Father in Heaven!!!!

This surely is UNA OBRA MARAVILLOSA and it is APARECIENDO A LOS HIJOS DE LOS HOMBRES!!!! All that have the desire to help ESTAN LLAMADOS A LA OBRA!!!

Week 48: Obra Maravillosa!!

1.   I saw the pics of you having the Saturday morning session with the Domans.  It looked          like you guys were enjoying yourself.  What were you eating?
-Yeah it was pretty good. We ate like a huge omelet type thing that they eat in Spain.

2.   What was your favorite talk from what you viewed?
-Jeffery R. Holland where he talked at the beginning and left the mic drop.

3.  Where did you watch the other sessions?
-On Saturday we went to a member's house. Then Sunday in the stake center.

4.  What are your plans for baptisms coming up?
-We are hoping to get 3 to 6 this week but we'll see. We are excited to actually work this week because we really didn't last week. We were in Tuxtla a lot.

This is one amazing work. In the past month we saw many miracles and I'm honestly grateful for the opportunity that I've had to see the work with my eyes. This past month we were able to help 21 of our brothers and sisters come to the waters of baptism!!!

We are very proud of it because it was something that has never been done here in Tuxtla in this area. We were reminded this week of a scripture in Alma-- Alma 29:9, which talks about us being instruments.

This scripture came to mind because we were very proud of what had happened and then we felt a little bad like maybe we shouldn't be prideful. But there's a difference in that and rejoicing. Joy is exactly what this work brings into our lives and I invite all that are wondering if they should go on a mission or those who are just members, get active in the missionary work. Let God make you into an instrument in his hands.

The troubles and problems of life wont disappear but they will be a lot easier to overcome and I can promise you all that you will feel pure joy! This work is a marvelous one. God's hand is guiding it and as we forget about the world and focus on giving what we have to be instruments in the hands of the Lord, we will feel the pure joy that comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His work!!!
