Week 33: 1 Mas Semanas Juntos En Junio

We have one more week to finish this month off strong. We were running this week a lot to try to complete the goal of our zone and area. We are seeing miracles out here in the field.

Missionary work is a wonderful thing but it's hard sometimes. There are moments of stress. There are moments of difficulties but as we SUFRIR CON PACIENCIA NUESTRAS AFLICCIONES Y DIOS NOS DARÉ EL EXITO ALMA 26: 27.

Alma 26: 27

Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.

We are planning to get at the very least 14 baptized this week in the zone. So we will be running. But we know we are here for a purpose. That purpose is to help and invite others to come unto Christ.

Out here we are literal representatives of the Lord. We are here to do His work and His will. We will complete what the Lord wants and has prepared as we show faith, love, and work.

Week 32: Que Semana

Hey well I don't have much time to write. We are about to go out to visit people with President Doman but I'll give y'all the quick rundown.

We went to go visit a family that is inactive in the church and we figured out that their 3 kids are not baptized. So we are working on that this week to get them baptized next week which should be really good.

Then we went to go visit two kids that like listeneng to us. Their dad is a member but inactive and their mom doesn't really believe all that much in God which is hard for me to understand because everything here in the earth is a testimony that there is a God. The dad likes to drink and gets angry. So we had to leave but we ended up going back to help settle and smooth out the situation.

Through the gospel we can have joy. All of our problems can and will be solved through Christ as long as we let Him in our lives and put Him first.

The bishop also gave me an opportunity to talk this week in church about missionary work because he has been going out with us to visit and he wants the other members to feel as happy as he feels when he goes out to visit investigators and less actives... Wait a second woahhh we can be happy through our service who kneww??? lol But yeah I talked about John 21 when Christ talks with the apostles after they have gone back to fishing and he confronts Peter three times and asks if he loves him and related it to the fact that if we also love our Savior we will show it by helping our fellow brethren here on the earth to receive the restored gospel.

A lot more happened this week but I really don't have much time.

Week 31: Milagros...Si Existen

This was a good week. Honestly it went by super duper fast and I'm exhausted but it was good. Things were starting to get a little stressful because we set our goals for the area and the zone and we hadn't really seen much success.

But this week my companion and I knelt down and said a prayer. I would rather not state all that was said but we are willing to give all we have for success in bringing our brethren unto the waters of baptism (ALMA 26: 22 & 27).

22 Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.

27 Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success

So after the prayer we got up and got to work. I would like to share one of the experiences that Elder Solis and I had during this week of miracles.

On Friday we were headed out to a visit. We had planned that we were sure was gonna fall through but we went anyways because we figured well why not lol. So as we were walking to the visit we saw two people standing outside of the house and they looked lost. In that moment I felt the strongest urge that we needed to go and talk to them. So we walked up and I asked them what their names were and the son said his name was Bladimir and his mom's name is Blanca.

I have to take a step back here now because I have to explain something. We had torn apart our carpeta de area to look for good old investigators to teach and so we had a few set apart from the others that we had been looking for. One of these families was Hermana Blanca and her kids. Bueno pues (Well then) when they said their names  it hit me. We had finally found them after three weeks.

So I asked them if they had talked to missionaries beforew and she started telling us a story of how yeah before they listened but mainly just the kids and she hadn't been interested because she didnt know what God had really done for her. But she said she had been having so many troubles they had to leave Tuxtla. They finally came back because they just didn't know what to do next.

Then she starts telling us that In the night before the son Bladimir had a dream were he was walking in Monte Real (a colonia in our area)  and he felt like he had to go because in the dream he heard a voice saying this is the place.

So in the morning he talks to his mom and says they need to go to this place and they went. They had only been there for like 30 minutes up until we found her and her son. She then accepted us to come over the next day. We came with the bishop and she ended up telling us all the problems that she has been having and that she knows now that we have been sent in each others' paths for a reason because God is reaching out to her and her family through us.

She and her family are very open to the gospel especially because the step dad is a member but very inactive for a veryyy long time. We have now received through them three different families to teach that are all open to the gospel.

This is the work of the Lord. It truly is a marvelous work and a wonder. We will be lead to those of God's children who He is preparing and He truly is prepáring people to accept His word because He is our literal father in heaven and He loves us. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week 30: Donde se fue la Semana???

1. Did you get your green card yet?
-Nope it's in process.

2. With you being an American, how much political stuff do you hear down there? Does anyone ever ask you about what's going on in America in political stuff?
-Not really anything here they just joke about Trump.

4. Are you still in the threesome or are you back to just your companion?
-Just us two

5. How was the time with all the missionaries staying in your apartment? Did they sleep on the floor?
-No we have like 7 beds so we just got them all together and slept.

6. What's your apartment like?
-I can take pics of the apartment. It's cool.

This week went by so fast. I can barely remember everything. But I'll try to give a day by day playback.

So en Martes, we had our Consego de Liderazgo (Leadership Conference) which was really cool honestly. President was not very happy in the beginning because we had to go back through the rules and make sure everyone knew that just because we are leaders does not mean we can do what we want.

This is very true. The first law of the heavens is obedience. There are no exceptions. Obedience is key to everything!!!! Then we talked about how we should be continually trying to relate ourselves with Christ. We as missionaries are literal representatives of Jesus Christ. We must be continually trying to see how we can conform our life and attributes more to Him!! It is also the same way as members of the church. When we are baptized we promise to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ

*ALSO INCLUDES ATTRIBUTES of Christ**

We must continually try to conform our lives to the life of the Savior. When we do this we will have pure joy in our lives.

PLEASE EVERYONE STUDY 3 NEPHI 11:3-14

We must always keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open to what the Lord is trying to show us through the spirit or through other peopel. It took them three times to finally get what was going on. But the moment they opened there eyes, ears, and most importantly their hearts, they saw and heard what was happening and they were blessed with joy for it.

We had been struggling with one of our investigators for a while. But we had a good breakthrough this week. On Friday we went and we decided to just take a step back and teach lesson one the restoration with the video and everything. It was so powerful. We had been talking so much about baptism over and over that we didn't even think to step back and teach a basic, but very important lesson.

He was really closed up before but during this lesson we saw those walls fall down all the way up to the last prayer when we knelt to thank God for his gospel thank Him for His Spirit and blessed him. It was so good.

But yeah I  gotta go now. I should have more time in the next week to talk!!
