Week 28: Pics and Questions Answered

1. Did you get the other box? How will the new bag work for you?
-Yeah I got the new bag. I didn't realize it got bigger so we laughed for a little while. But it actually works well. I think it can hold a bunch.

2. How was Zone Conference? I noticed that the Domans were at the CCM for mission pres training this week.
-It was good. We are trying to baptize 35 next month. They are back now I'm pretty sure but yeah they were there.

3. Did you find the SD card with music on it?
-Yeah we have been using the two of them a lot.

4. How was your week?
-It  was long but good. A lot changed with my outlook on being a leader. I need to be more knowing of everything that is happening and get them all going.

5. What does the typical week look like in your new zone as opposed to how you used to spend time down in Tonala?
-There is a lot more to keep track of but it's fun. I have 9 areas but another 2 or three that are closed right now.

6. Did you get your green card yet?
-No, this week

7. How about the duffle bag?
-I have to find it in Coppel. (a store there)

8. Did you have a member of the seventy visit recently-- Elder and Sister Pingree? I saw pics on IG of Sister Doman and Sister Pingree in a big rainstorm
-I think they came just for a conference then because not for us.

9. Have you ever got caught in a big downpour? Does it rain a lot there? Does it rain more in Tuxtla or Tonala area?
-When it rains here it rains a lot and hard but pretty short. Then nothing. The rain really just started honestly lol.

10. How many times have you used your fan?
-Just once. I'll use it a lot in Tapachula lol.

When we asked him for a message to put on the blog, here is what he said:

"Just tell them it's all good. We are prepping to get 35 baptisms as a zone this next month and do it like a family because this zone doesn't really baptize. The highest number of baptisms in a month is 18. So we are gonna work like a family and get stuff done."

Week 27: Empezando Aquí en MOCTEZUMA!!

My first full week here definitely was different from Tonalá, by a long shot, lol.

It has been a little interesting getting used to mission life here in the city and in ward more than anything. This week I had to start building our relationships back up with the members of the church here. So the members were not very ready to help us but this week we started changing that.

We spent quite a bit of time with members of the church this week and their families helping them with their problems and getting to know them. Just out of that, we ended up receiving a bunch of references of their friends that also need help with different things.

By the end of the week, we got pretty close to a good chunk of the members and got to know a lot of new people to talk to. Us missionaries are not in this work alone. We need the help of the members. We should be doing this work together, and for that reason our theme for June will be JUNTOS EN JUNIO (Together in June).

We are organizing lists where the members can sign up when they would like to go out with us to invite their friends to listen to the restored gospel and so far we are seeing miracles, and we know we will see more.

This is the Lord's work. This is His church. He is the head of it and is guiding it. We must be willing to give up our will for His and we will become his servants.

Week 26: Whole Lotta New LOL

This week has been a lot of change-- new zone, new comp, new area, and well many other news.

The biggest change of all was the zone.

I went from a zone I had known for pretty much my whole mission, being the zone leader, to moving up to the Zone Tuxtla Mexico, which consists of the mission offices, the temple,  and 9 other areas, which I knew none of them lol.

But everything for the most part settled out once I got here. It is defintely a huggeee change coming from the coast to the city but I have gotten in pretty good with the people here.

Right now I am in Moctezuma Ward serving as zone leader. Being in a ward is a little different of an experience with missionary work but it's still fun.

When I got here, we immediately started visiting. We visited one girl named Grecia. She is a really special investigator here. She was having some troubles with faith but we read through the chapter 31 of 2nd Nephi and it was such a good lesson. We explained the need for a baptism by the proper authority and by immersion. By the end of the lesson, we had a baptismal date for this Saturday and throughout the week we have another one as well. Her name is Yoesline she is also really good and it has helped a lot having their friends inviting them to seminary and church and just being their friends in general.

They dug a well!

This rock was one of the boulders they had to remove.

We should all be trying to help our friends and families come to know the restored gospel, and as we do so we will all have an added joy that cannot be measured! But that's all that's new so far. I definitely am missing the zone of Tonala but we had a good finish out there baptizing a family.

We finished out strong there in Tonala so now we just gotta hit it hard here in the city!!
