Week 38: Tuxtla Chico 1/2

Tuxtla Gutierrez Temple

My new area is here in Tuxtla Chico, Tapachula. It is so much fun honestly. We share an area with sisters here which is good because we have all types of investigators.

I am loving this zone too. It's like a little family. We have 5 companionships- 2 are elders and 3 are sisters and each of the sister companionships is training. We all work together for that reason.

We are always seeing how we can help the others and help them out. Even though we have a lot of new people in our zone it doesn't matter because in reality we are all called to this wonderful work and we are all set apart to be representatives of Jesus Christ.

This week should be a good one. We are planning to bring all of the missionaries out here to Tuxtla Chico to help us get a new list of investigators so that we can really focus in the people that God is preparing to accept the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Week 37: Cambiossss

This week was really cool honestly. I went traveling again to look for more amzing people!!! This time we went out to Coita and traveled to Algunos--small tiny towns outside. It was so cool to see all those places but it was also a little sad because there was almost no one in these towns that knew about the complete truth that the full and everlasting Gospel brings into our lives.

We used the scripture chapters Alma 17-28 as our theme this week. Y'all should read it. It's a good story of some flame missionaries!!!!

But now there are changes and I have to goooo. I almost cried when they told me I'm going to leave. But it's alright. The Lord  wants me in Tuxtla Chico, Tapachula, Mexico. That's where I'll go.

So I'm looking forward to my new zone and new area. This  should be fun. I've never been to Tapachula and I'll be on the border of Guatamala. That should be really cool. I'm excited but a little sad. I will miss Moctezuma and Linda Vista and really the whole zone and stake of Tuxtla Mexicooo.

Week 36: Milagros de los Viajes

Fell twice last week---Ouch!

This week was a good one---honestly it was pretty great. I'm sooooo tired but as the title explains we did see miracles through our travels.

I was also able to see two experiences that helped me see even more just how much Satan tries to get us to fear the right. We started out in Mal Paso on Tuesday. We showed up with prayers in our hearts that we were gonna be able to help one of our brethren come unto Christ through the covenant. If I am gonna be completely honest, we did not know if we were gonna have a baptism. But we did have faith. So we packed white clothing and headed that way.

Outside the Tuxtla Gutierrez Temple with Zone

When we got there, we showed up to talk with the sister and her friend and I read Mosiah 18: 8-11.

And it came to pass that he said unto them: Behold, here are the waters of Mormon (for thus were they called) and now, as ye are adesirous to come into the bfold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light;
Yea, and are awilling to mourn with those that bmourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as cwitnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the dfirst resurrection, that ye may have eternal life—
10 Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being abaptized in the bname of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a ccovenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
11 And now when the people had heard these words, they clapped their hands for joy, and exclaimed: This is the desire of our hearts.

Then I asked if it was their desire to serve Christ, to be a light to others. Let's go to the river because what is standing in the way of being baptized as a testimony of your love and faith in God and your opportunity to ENTER A COVENANT WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHERRRR.

They said yes so fast. We were so so happy. It was a special experience as well because she is a handicapped lady, who is also a little heavy. She was so so scared once we got to the water. She had never entered any form of water like a pool, river, lake, ocean, nothing.

But I asked her if she had faith in Jesus Christ and she said yes and calmed down. We tried one time with the wheelchair but she didn't go completely under. So we had to take her out of the chair and I had to hold her with one of our companions. Before she was saying over and over with pure fear that she just couldn't do it--she thought that she would never be able to do it.

But once again we asked her if she had faith in Christ. Then we did the baptism. The moment she came out of the water she started exclaiming, YO PUDE YO PUDE HERMANO YO PUDE.

In that moment I don't know about anyone there but those words entered my heart. We can ALWAYS do it if it is first commanded of God. If it is the right, there is always a way. But Satan will always be right there trying to make us fear for one reason or other to say we can't. But yes you can. You just need to have the faith that the prophet Nephi also had as he said IRÉ Y HARÉ LO QUE EL SEÑOR ME HA MANDADO!!!

There is no commandment that we can not complete. God is always helping as long as we first show our faith. I saw a similar experience as I traveled to Berriozabal on Wednesday. We met with an investigator of the sisters. He has been listening to the missionaries for like 2 years now so I wanted to see what was up. We started talking to him with his mother but I felt like he didn't really wanna talk. So I pulled him out. We went outside to talk alone. After like an hour of talking we came to the conclusion that yes he will get baptized on the 20th.

But wow was he scared to say yes. He said yes he wants to follow Jesus Christ but he was still a little scared because his dad wasn't all that happy about it and he was scared what people might think. But it DOES NOT MATTERRR what people thinkkkk what matters is our hearts, our faith, and our want to do the right.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT, HAZ LO JUSTO, DONT BE SCARED, NO TENGAN MIEDO, HAVE FAITH, TENGAN FE, and you will all continually feel the spirit in your lives!!
