Week 42: Elder Pino!

This week was a little stressful seeing that we had to prepare for a general authority. But the things we learned in this week were really good. This email is gonna be short due to the time we have to write. I'm hoping we have a chance to write more next week lol.

The meetings with Elder Pino were helpful in remembering that we must be magnifying our calling in every way possible. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ to help them receive the restored gospel. Everything we do in every moment should be related to this purpose.

He invited us to look at our day to day and see if everything lines up with our purpose. He invited us to repent and stop doing whatever it is that is not lining up with our purpose.

We also received the challenge from President Doman to all the zone leaders that we should look for an attribute of Christ to apply and make better in our life and do it!

We learned a lot this week and I am excited to apply it to this area here in Xochimilco to complete our goal of 10-15 baptisms this month and at the least 25 in the zone. This month is gonna be a fun one. We will definitely have to trabajar amar y disfrutar (work, love, and enjoy).

Week 40: PRESI, BAUTISMOS, Y CAMBIOS

This week was a good one but long one lol. We had a meeting with President and Hermana Doman. It was good. Sister Doman switched it up a little bit and had us ponder for like 20 minutes on a scripture that has helped us out and we had to then share the scripture and why.

It was really cool because we saw a pattern with the 10 scriptures--a pattern "God is always with us through everything, WE ARE NEVER ALONE"

The scripture that I choose to share was one I found when I was studying literally the night before the zone conference which was Doctrine & Covenants 24:7-8.

For thou shalt devote all thy aservice in Zion; and in this thou shalt have strength.
Be apatient in bafflictions, for thou shalt have many; but cendure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the dend of thy days.

We are never alone in this life. We have a Padre Celestial who loves us so much and a Savior who knows us perfectly.

We also had the blessing of having two baptisms this week. It's a wonderful thing to be able to see someone leave the waters of baptism clean and pure-- the joy that comes with entering covenants with our Heavenly Father is something that is hard to explain with words!!

Service

We also received word from President that we will be having transfers. I will be opening the area of Xochimilco with Elder Luna. It will be really fun a wonderful experience. I'm excited to get out there and get back to the basics ALMA 26:22!!!!!!!!!!!

22 Yea, he that arepenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good bworks, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the cmysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be dgiven to ereveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.

Week 39: ORACIÓN = CLAVE

This week was a good one. We started out the week with a trip to Tapachula for some service. We helped a sister clean up her farm and place a new thing for shade (forgot what that's called) which took a lot of work and practically all day. But it was fun because we had the whole zone there--all 10 of us lol.

After that, we had a few days of going looking for investigators outside of Tuxtla Chico and quickly noticed that if we keep working with what we had we were not gonna find the success we wanted.

So in the next morning we prayed that we could find 3 people that will get baptized. We knew that if we asked for something specifically we would receive. We added it along with a fast. As we went out to work we decided to go to look for a reference we received over the phone. As we met with her, she explained her gratefulness because she had been praying to know what she should do in the realm of religion and quickly explained how her 13 year old son also had the same questions.

We were so happy when she asked us to come over to her house later to teach them both because when we went they decided to come to church with us to see what's up. We also went to go visit a girl named Estrella to see if her mom was gonna say yes to baptism and wow it was cool because she immediately said "Well we can wait to go back to the city of Mexico so that she can get baptized and confirmed." So she will be baptized on Saturday maybe along with her mother because her mom said that she is gonna pray to see if she should too!!

So it ended out a pretty good week and it was pretty good to receive that confirmation that our prayers are always listened to and when we ask specifically we receive specifically. I'm lovin' it out here in Tuxtla Chico.
